See full gallery on TechnoBuffaloIt’s been four months since Microsoft released Office for iPad, offering up touch-friendly versions of Word, PowerPoint and Excel for the competing line of tablets. Now the company is pushing updated versions of all three apps chock full of new features.
In PowerPoint you can now play audio and video from inside your presentation, and you can upload videos from your tablet’s Camera Roll straight into a slide. Microsoft added a new Presenter View so you can still see upcoming slides and any extra notes even while you’re making a big presentation from your iPad. Finally, Microsoft added easier annotations and the ability to edit hyperlinks.
Meanwhile, Excel is adding easier navigation with a new set of flick-based gestures to quickly move around the page. The app is also getting PivotTables for summarizing your data with some special customization options.
Microsoft is adding an “export to PDF” option for all three apps along with some new editing tools. Tap a picture and you’ll get the option to either Crop or Reset. The apps will also support third-party fonts, which was missing from earlier iPad versions.
If you haven’t tried out Office for iPad already, you can download all three apps for free from the App Store, though you’ll need to pay for Office 365 or at least sign up for a 30-day trial before you can get any real use out of them.
